“Still with You”
BTS making with The Tree: How an old branch became a bench
A gentle reminder:
At midnight today (Sunday), the (H)Être limited edition prints will close. The two works currently available — Impression feuille (Monotype II) / Leaf print (Monoprint II) and Ce qui reste / What remains — will never be released again.
This is your last chance to own or gift one:

And before I go on - congratulations to Fabienne, who was the first to answer that The Tree was 268 years old! She will soon receive her signed and numbered limited-edition print 🌳
Last Sunday, when the doors to the exhibition closed, I stayed behind a little longer.
Just me and The Tree.
It was a moment of quiet gratitude for all that we made together, for the people The Tree allowed me to meet.
Today, I want to share another chapter of this story, one that began with an 800 kg piece of beech and a feeling that it needed to become something to withstand time.
The piece is called:
“Banc (Toujours avec toi)” / “Bench (Still with You)” (2025)
It took months to make.
Laurent Es-Borrat (Scierie Mobile / Mobile woodworking, Val-d’Illiez, CH) can confirm I changed my mind at least a thousand times about how to carve it. An 800-kilo branch is literally not to be taken lightly!
Eventually, it was the wood itself that showed me the way.
I removed only what was absolutely necessary.
I let the curves speak.
And shaped a quiet space where people could sit, breathe, and reconnect with The Tree hopefully for years to come.
The process was slow, physical, and full of discovery. You can see a few behind-the-scenes moments below, from raw branch to finished form.
If you visited the exhibition, I would love to hear what you felt.
Your messages mean the world.
“Merci pour cette magnifique exposition, hyper touchante et émouvante, poétique. Avec ces témoignages de plusieurs personnes et générations ça me touche énormément! Un immense bravo pour tout ce travail.”
